Welcome to Viva Vaquero!

Books

Viva Vaquero's library of western literature features some of the most recognized names in the vaquero world. We feature everything from contemporary buckaroo novels, to books on the historical use of gear; from anecdotal tales by legends in the culture, to "how to" tutorials by some of the most respected horseman in the field. Our authors include Tom Dorrance, Mike Bridges, Bill Reynolds, Arnold Rojas, Eward Borein, Buck Brannamen and Mackey Hedges as well as notable artists like Jo Mora, Jack Swanson and Ernest Morris. We carry the incredible photographic epic of Kurt Markus and a book featuring the beautiful watercolor work of Don Weller. If you are looking for the definitive last word on modern gear see our book titled Bits and Spurs by Ned and Jody Martin, and for a delightful children's tale, see Jo Mora's Budgee Budgee Cottontail and Chippee De Munk.
